Last April 2013, my company had assigned me for a short assignment to support our London office in Woking, Surrey, United Kingdom. I went they for 2 weeks with my colleague, Arif and stayed at Holiday Inn, Woking. So, this kira my second visit to UK after 29 years when I was a baby at 3 months old. Haha. to be fair, this consider my first visit la.
Our office just nearby to hotel, took like 10 minutes walking. Woking is consider large town located in the west of Surrey, England. What I like about this town is their council is one of the country's leaders in adopting greener energy technologies. As Chemical Engineer, I really love what they implemented here. Try to Google about their '
"Green Tech" if you wish to get know, penat nak taip. This Woking town memang peaceful, even on weekdays so sesuai lah for those nak settle down here. And it is not far from England main big city, London took like half an hour by train to London Waterloo station.
But one thing make me feel a quite boring here was most of the shops here closed at 5 pm. Keluar je office, terus tutup kedai, sedih :(. So normally, after office hours we went to nearby town. Sepanjang 2 weeks there, we only managed to visit Guilford and Reading during weekdays. Nak pergi tempat lain maybe tak sempat, so we planned to go London on weekends.
Owh, lupa nak cerita why we are here. My company boleh dikatakan MNC la. So, KL office pun consider baru buka about few years la. Since, the workload in KL not so heavy, so kitaorang datang sini to help London office on North Sea project. This project really2 big meh, cost about billion tu. Makan tak abis nie. So a lot of manhours to spend it. Sebabkan due date pun dah dekat to issue the drawings, so kitaorang tolonglah apa yang patut. Tapi macam jalan-jalan lebih dari buat kerja. Haha, paid vacation...but kerja kitaorang siap k.
